Research Activity

FET'09 Conference

I have just finished presenting the H-NAMe mechanism at FET'09 conference at the Republic of Korea. The funny part was that I was the one to open the conference, even before the official Opening Ceremony.

Korean culture is quite different and communication is sometimes a problem since it's hard to find people that speak english. However Koreans are very friendly and helpful.

EWSN'09

I received the European CONET M. Sc. Award at the University College Cork, Ireland. Many thanks to my supervisors, Dr. Mário Alves, Dr. Anis Koubaa, my colleagues at ISEP-IPP and my parents.

My research activity is being carried out at the IPP-Hurray! Research Group and is focused in the area of Wireless Sensor Networks, working on new communication architectures and mechanisms to improve the Quality-of-Service (QoS) in large-scale distributed embedded systems (as described here). Currently, I am also the lead developer of the Open-ZB open source IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee protocol stack implementation in TinyOS

Please check the Research Activitiy section for more information and feel free to check the publications.

 When I am not working...

Well, I try to schedule my spare time throughout multiple activities. These include Krav Maga training, some workout at the gym, and playing some piano. I also enjoy other leisure activities such as watching some movies, TV series and reading. In case you are wondering how I get to do all of this... well I don't. But I try nevertheless.
